On Sunday 11 November the school held a special event to mark Remembrance Day and the celebrate the Unveiling of the Home Coming artwork To learn more about the project and how the artwork was made visit the We Will Remember Them website.
Friday 23 November is non-uniform day; in exchange, we ask that children bring in a small gift that may be used in the Secret Santa room at the Christmas Bazaar. To ensure that we get an even spread of gifts we ask that children donate from the list below.
- Reception and Year 4: Gifts for Her
- Year 2 and Year 6: Gifts for Him
- Year 3 and Year 5: Bottles (Bubble bath, shampoo, wine etc.) and Jars (jams, chutneys etc)
- Year 1: Sweets and Chocolate
We would also be grateful for any donations of Teddies (for the Tombola) and cakes (please bring cakes on the day).

North School Association
The Christmas performance dates for December are as follows:
- Reception – Wednesday 5th at 9.30am
- Year 1 and 2 – Friday 7th at 9.30am and 2.00pm
- Year 3 – Thursday 13th at 6.30pm* and Friday 14th at 9.30am
- Year 4 – Friday 14th at 2.00pm
- Year 5 and 6 – Tuesday 18th, an Evening Carol Concert at 7.00pm*
*Please note that there will not be creches available for evening performances
Christmas performances are a time for parents to relax and enjoy the shows without worrying about your little ones. If you can, please make arrangements for toddlers and pre-schoolers to be looked after by friends or relatives when you come to a show. If this is not possible, you will be asked to drop children off at the creche when you arrive. Please make sure you book a place in the creche, forms are available from the office, to be handed in as soon as possible. Please note the creche will open 10 minutes before the start of each performances.
In November 2018 Reception parents were given information about how reading is taught in school and what parents can do at home to help children improve their reading skills and develop a love of reading. Please take a look at the presentation for information which will be useful for parents of children of any age, including pre-schoolers.
Eyes down for a full house!
It’s Bingo time again on Friday 16 November at 6pm. All the family are invited to come along and enjoy a great evening. Supper and soft drinks will be available, see booking form for more information.
To book your tickets, please return the form which has been given to all children: Adults £3, Children £1. Secure your tickets early to avoid disappointment. This event always sells well!
Open lessons will be taking place this half term. These are an opportunity to come into school and join your child’s class to find out what the children have been learning and help them. Lessons will be as follows:
- Wednesday 31 October at 2.00pm – Year 6 classes
- Thursday 1 November at 9.15am – Year 3 classes
- Wednesday 7 November at 9.15am – Mrs Neal’s class and Mrs Spalding’s class
- Thursday 8 November at 9.15am – Miss Wicks’ class and Miss Jacobs’ class
- Friday 9 November at 2.00pm – Year 4 classes
- Tuesday 13 November at 9.15am – Year 5 classes
Parking will be available in the playground for the Open Lessons. We look forward to seeing parents there!
Please note that the autumn/winter term school dinner menu starts week commencing 29 October 2018.
There will be an opportunity for prospective parents/carers to visit the school on our Open Evening on Wednesday 28th November at 6.00pm or 7.00pm. As well as meeting the Headteacher, you will be able to meet the Foundation Stage Leader and school special needs coordinator to answer your questions. Please note the evening will be for parents and carers only and you are asked to arrive promptly for your choice of session. Parking is available on the lower playground, accessed via Victoria Chase. Mr Garnett and Mrs Blackwell have written to all parents regarding school budgets, a copy of the letter is also available on the website for parents to read.
We run a breakfast and after school club, providing children for your children within the school environment. The clubs are run by staff who are employed by the school and parents are able to select regular days and sessions to suit their own childcare needs. Bookings are now being taken for the autumn term.
