Attendance and punctuality
Punctuality is very important. Involve your child in establishing good routines to ensure that being ready for the day and getting to school on time is as stress free as possible. Late arrivals are recorded at the office and persistent lateness will lead to a meeting with the headteacher.
Attendance and punctuality are regularly reviewed in the school. Action will be taken in cases of poor attendance and persistent lateness. Where there is no improvement a referral may be made to the Local Authority which may lead to a meeting being called with the family. It is within the power of the Local Authority to initiate court proceedings against parents if a child’s attendance is very poor and does not improve.
ParentsĀ seeking advice on attendance and help if you are experiencing difficulties getting your child to school should speak to the school in the first instance.
