Standards 4 Year Overview
Children’s capabilities are captured when they start school and progress is tracked continually until they leave.
Teachers use assessment to inform planning so that all children can succeed and make good progress in all areas of the curriculum.
During their primary school careers, assessment and testing is conducted and comparison can be made with schools nationally. School performance measures include:
- The percentage of our 5 year olds who have achieved a good level of development.
- The percentage of 6 year olds who have passed a phonics test.
- Assessment information for reading, writing and maths at the end of Year 2 (Key Stage 1).
- Assessment and test (SATs) information about the children’s performance in reading, writing and maths at the end of Year 6 (Key Stage 2).
