School council

Two children from each class, from Year 2 upwards, are elected to the school council every September. Year 6 pupils take committee positions of chair, secretary, treasurer and press officer.

The school council brings a “student voice” to the running of the school, contributing ideas and suggestions on a range of subjects from fundraising to names for new parts of the school. North’s council also takes part in discussions and activities with councils from other members in the consortium of primary schools across the borough of Colchester to which North belongs.
